Outside of South Africa, in the Indian Ocean, lived two thorny seahorses – Spike and Sadie. The other animals in the ocean think they’re strange and tease them, saying it’s unnatural for Spike to give birth to babies. They say he needs to be more like the other boys in the ocean. Spike insists he and Sadie are not as different as the other animals think.
A blue ringed octopus, a hawksbill turtle, a mantis shrimp, and a porcupine fish, all set out across the world to find out just how different, or common, these two seahorses are.
This book teaches a great lesson about acceptance and embracing our differences. But also to look beyond those differences and notice the common ground we share as well.
Learn factual information about seahorses and other sea creatures while reading this colorful and imaginative story.
